McDonalds

Just thought i'd let you know that my day is off to a good start. After helping L get ready for school today (goal is to be ready by 8, but today it took her until 8:30) I stopped by the Mt. Lehman McDonalds to have a visit with my friend D.N., a retired friend that I met while working at the Ellwood City Blends a few years back. D and his wife and I have developed a special friendship and I always enjoy their visits to the shop on Sundays. Now I know that D's new breakfast hangout is McDee's so I thought it would be nice to join him once in a while. While I was on my trip, I made a special effort to send them postcards so I could share my experience with them since they're not into computers. I feel like i'm their grand-daughter. When I came home from my trip, they had me over to their house for dessert and to share my photos with them. It's such a pleasure to have them in my life and I enjoy hearing about their younger years, hobbies and everyday occurrences. They are always interested in what's going on in my life too. I am blessed by their friendship and that the conversations we share from time to time. What a great start to my day to have breakfast with D!

ME!

I've been wanting to post this picture. I don't really have a whole lot of pictures of just me from the Trip to South East Asia, but here I am at the Sre Ambel Bridge, Cambodia. This was taken by Denise during our Vacation together. We decided to run from the rain in Sihanoukville and instead go to Phuket. This was one of the stops along the way to Bangkok. Here I am with pineapple and water bottle in hand, ready to take on another few hours in the bus.

Show me...

January 10th

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZpPIKmiMuo

You bought my life with the blood
That you shed on the cross
When you died for the sins of men
And you let out a cry, crucified
Now alive in me

These hands are yours
Teach them to serve
As you please and I'll reach out
Desperate to see all the greatness of God
May my soul rest assured in you

I'll never be the same
No I'll never be the same
Cause I know that you're alive
You came to fix my broken life
And I'll sing to glorify
Your Holy name, Jesus Christ

You've changed it all
You broke down the wall
When I spoke and confessed
In you I am blessed
Now I walk in the light
In victorious sight of you

Show me your heart
Show me your way
Show me your glory

January 7th/8th

I am thankful... That God is a Faithful Father.

Whatever my lot, Thou hast taught me to say, "It is well, It is well with my soul."

In the music class this month we are learning the songs "It is well with my soul" and "'Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus." Before school started I was considering which song to pick as the new song of the month. The hymn It is well with my soul, written by Horatio Spafford came to mind, even though it is not sung that often in church anymore. I remember hearing the story of how Mr. Spafford went through great loss, yet could still manage to confidently write these words. I've been explaining to the students that no matter the circumstance we find ourselves in, God is always with us. "Be strong and courageous; do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God is with your wherever you God" (Joshua 1:9). Jesus Jesus how I trust him; how i've proved him over and over. I know that he is with me. I know that he is with my friends who are in difficult situations; he is with those who are starting new jobs and new assignments, he is with those who feel alone; he is with those who are sick and feel uncertain about what lies ahead. Thank you Lord that we are not alone and that you always stand near us.

New Years Prayer

Heal My Heart and Make it clean
Open up my eyes to the things Unseen
Show me how to love like You Have Loved Me
Break my heart for what breaks yours
Everything I am for your Kingdom's cause
As I walk from Earth into Eternity.

January 3rd

I'm thankful... that Christianity is about a process and not a product. Christ calls us to move forward with our eyes focused on Him. I am thankful for those who remind me to maintain eye contact with the Father. I want to become more Christ-Like.

Happy New Year

I've been thinking that I should post more often.

It's a new year and i'm looking forward to it.

I have been reflecting on the year gone by the last few days and can not believe all that I have experienced this last year. It has been a memorable one for sure.I want to post more about the small things that happen in the ordinary days. I want to voice the things I am grateful for and see that my cup runneth over and that I am truly blessed.
I am thankful that I know my life has purpose.
